Testing Begins March 3

4th and 5th graders will take a Writing Test on March 3.

Parent Portal Issues

The FOCUS website, which hosts our Parent Portal is being moved to a new, faster server. During this process, gradebook processes and other programs which draw data from Focus (Renaissance/AR, Discovery Education, etc.) are affected. We will post on our website and school facebook page when all services have been restored.

New Tests this Year

Our students in grades 3-5 will be taking a new test this year: FSA (Florida State Assessments). Some of the testing 5th grade will do on the computer. There are practice tests available at the following link:

There are also other resources available for parents at this link:

Our media center (library) is open every Thursday until 7 P.M. if you'd like to come and take a practice test, view resources, or familiarize yourself with the type of computers that will be used for the testing.

Battle of the Books

Thanks to those who have allowed their children to participate! We are off to a roaring start! This week, the group passed tests on 5 of the Sunshine State Books with 100% on all five!  We currently have 20 students participating and must cut our group down to 15 by the end of this month. They are all doing so well, it will be hard to decide which 15 go to the competition!

Book Buddies Needed

If you have stuffed animals in good condition that your children have outgrown, please consider donating them to our Media Center. We have a donated toy chest all ready for our new guests. Our Kindergarten and First grade students would love to have some book buddies to share their books with.

Thank You to Mrs. Fina and Mrs. Ross for our first Book Buddies!
